Indian Army Clerk Eligibility, Age Limit, Height, Chest, Weight
The physical eligibility in clerk is almost same as the Indian army GD. But there is a difference in chest, weight, height, Age limit. So firstly let’s look at the different eligibility criteria that an Indian army clerk candidate must fulfill in order to be able to participate in the rally.
Age Limit: 17½ years to 23 years. Any male candidate who is between 17½ to 23 years of age can apply for the clerk Bharti.
Academic qualification: The first requirement is that the candidate must be intermediate or 12th pass from any stream with at least 50% marks in each subject and 60% marks in all subject combine.
If you didn’t have maths or English in class 12th, then it’s necessary that must have studied maths/English/ bookkeeping in class 10th with at least 50% marks.
Height: The height requirement for candidates of the different state is different. See the table to get a better idea:

Medical fitness: apart from the above criteria, a candidate should also be medically fit. Here are the medical fitness criteria:
- The applicant must be in a very good physical as well as mental health.
- He should have 6/6 distant vision in both eyes, any defect in any eye will lead to disqualification.
- The teeth and gums of the candidate should be free from any disease and he must score at least 14 dental points to get through the medical test.
- His chest should be well developed and must increase at least 5 cm when asked to expand.
- He should be free from any kind of physical or mental illness.

Indian Army Clerk Selection Process
The selection process is same for all the trades. It involves PFT (physical fitness test), medical test and written exam. All of these processes are explained in details below:
PFT (Physical Fitness Test): The physical fitness involves running, pull ups, balancing and 9 feet ditch.
Running – 1600 meters, marks will be given to candidates as per the time they finish the race. Generally, people completing the race after 5.45 sec are disqualified. Maximum marks given to the candidate in this test is 60.
Pull ups – 40 marks for 10 pull ups
Balancing and 9 feet ditch – no marks are given in these tests, a candidate is just required to clear these tests.
Medical test: the medical test is conducted usually on the same day or a day after the rally. All those candidates who clear the PFT are examined closely by a team of army doctors for any kind of flaw in candidates. To qualify this round a candidate must fulfill the above mentioned medical criteria.
Written exam: the written exam is conducted approx 1 months after the rally. The syllabus of army clerk is based on CBSE syllabus. Following is the paper pattern:

As you can see that the paper will be of total 200 marks, and will consist of 50 questions. Candidates are advised to prepare for English better than any subject as 25 out of 50 questions in clerk are asked from English.
